Redguards
The most naturally talented warriors in Tamriel are the dark-skinned, wiry-haired Redguards of Hammerfell who seem born to battle, though their pride and fierce independence of spirit makes them more suitable as scouts or skirmishers, or as free-ranging heroes and adventurers, than as rank-and-file soldiers.
Descending from a longline of msytical seers and warriors, the Redguard orginally hailed from the sunken continent of Yokuda before they sailed to Hammerfell.
In addition to their cultural affinities for many weapon and armor styles, Redguards are also physically blessed with hardy constitutions and quickness of foot.
Despite their long connection with the Empire, and now with its apparent betrayal with the White-Gold Concordat, the Redguards have kept their governments intact in their independent country;
The Crowns is the remnants of the old ruling class of Yokuda, once called the Totambu, found mostly in the northern Hammerfell, still honoring the old ways of the Redguard and have the less influence from the Imperials.
The Forebears is the name given to a social and political group of the Redguards, once known as the Warrior Wave of Ra Gada, or first invasion of Yokudans to reach Tamriel.They easily bear the most influence of the Empire and Bretons compared to their more traditional brethern.
The Crowns and Forebears represented the two halves of a highly stratified Hammerfell and fought a bitter civil war during the Common Era. Today they are at peace, though divisions remain.
Recently a third faction, the Lhotunics, have emerged, representing a middle ground of both sides.
Decades ago, having forced the Aldmeri forces to leave their homeland, the Redguard have little love for the Empire, and remains silent for now.
