Rank: Listener
Name: Swift-Knife
Race: Argonian
Diseases/Illnesses: Porphyric Hemophilia
Age: Around 300 from the accounts around the Vvardenfall Crisis and beyond
Height: 6’7” ft
Weight: 240 lbs
Appearance:
A tall and powerful crocodilian Argonian with blunt ridges running down his back to a sharpened end of his long and thick tail, Swift-Knife does not appear to be one to be challenged in head-to-head combat, especially with his sharp talons on his fingers and toes or his vicious bone-crushing jaws full of knife-like teeth. His scales remind one of a dried swamp; almost pale tan skin that look like drying mud with a ‘muck’ of black scales on his back, as for his small heavily-lidded reptilian eyes, they are a unsettling blood red that seem to pierce into the soul of any creature he look upon.
As the sole Listener, no one hardly see him without his long and heavy midnight black-although if the light hit it right, there seem be blood-stained-robes that hides everything from his head to the ground.
Strengths:
Through the long-life granted to the Listener from his undead status as ancient vampire and sheer blessings from the Night Mother, Swift-Knife is a dark legend in the whispered tales of the Dark Brotherhood. A true master of the deadliest of arts of assassination and other fatal occupations, but amongst his many skills, he has been a master of the blade and shadows since his years as a mortal. With his martial skills, that was further augmented by his dark gifts, Swift-Knife is a unpredictable typhoon of death, which is the best description of the Listener in combat, but luckily for his enemies, it is rare to have him in combat.
Doing his life-duty as Listener of the Black Hand, Swift-Knife is a charismatic and wise leader, utilizing his life of experience to preserve his family as long as he can. His knowledge of the old ways and quick analyzing of his enemies will prove vital to their survival.
Weaknesses:
With his almost supernatural abilities, Swift-Knife is not without weaknesses. As a Vampire, he is have grown out of the fear of the sunlight killing him, having it severely weaken him to the near point of blindness sometimes, forcing him to use his hound-like sense of smell, and if stay exposed to it for too long, that old weakness will return, forcing him to dive in the dark depths of murky waters.
Hardly sleeping until the middle of every month to recuperate from his lack of sleep, Swift-Knife requires much blood, which he receives from the captured victims within the Deepscorn Hollow’s dungeons, or his feral instincts will turn upon his family and drive him out of intelligent thought.
Biography:
The past of the Listener is a shroud of mystery and whispers, he is known to the Speakers to be a ancient Vampire, but no one knows his role for the brotherhood in past; some say he have been a member of the Dark Brotherhood for centuries, other say he have been Listener since the Oblivion Crisis, but everyone knows for sure that he was apart of Astrid’s renegade house before the raid of the Imperials and the near extinction of the Dark Brotherhood.
Having been chosen as Listener by the Night Mother, his word is unchallenged as he and the surviving members of Astrid’s family restored the Dark Brotherhood to its old ways in Dawnstar’s Sanctuary.
Yet in the seemingly profitable years, the brotherhood was attacked again by the Empire and the Nordic politicans. Forced to escape Skyrim and hid to the far edges of the Cyrodiil, the Listener and his last family hides in his old home, the Deepscorn Hollows, there he have proclaimed this the last wound the governments of Tamriel will inflict on the brotherhood.
In the past year, a series of battles between the Empire, Skyrim, and Aldmeri Dominions caused the three to wage all-out war, and The Listener began to unfold his grand plan of humbling them all once and for all.
